Blended Online Standard Mental Health First Aid (Blended Online Standard MHFA) 

This 12-hour Blended Online Standard Mental Health First Aid MHFA is ideal for many workplaces and communities where 2-day face-to-face training courses are more challenging for course participant attendance. 

 

Designed for increased flexibility, the Blended Online MHFA Courses has been adapted from the Standard Mental Health First Aid Course for adults and delivered as Workplace or Community Course. Course content includes case-studies, videos and resources tailored to the learning needs of community/ workplace participants.​

Learn about the signs and symptoms of common mental health illnesses in adults, how to provide initial help, where and how to get professional help, what sort of help has been shown by research to be effective, and how to provide first aid in a crisis.

This is an accredited training that will help you become certified Mental Health First Aider the workplace requirements, with certificate issued by Mental Health First Aid Australia.

The 12-hour Blended Online Mental Health First Aid course can be delivered in 1 of 2 ways:

Session One: A self-paced eLearning component (approximately 5 hours).

Session Two - Practice: Choose from: 

 

1) Zoom Instructor-Led component (approximately 5 hours + breaks) or

2) attend a Face-to-Face session led by an accredited MHFA Instructor.

How much does it cost to attend MHFA training? Read more We have a flexible price schedule to accommodate all needs! The cost of an individual booking is $385, including GST (Standard MHFA). What is Community Chest initiative? Together we can make a difference! It starts from heart felt actions. There are two sponsorship placements in each program. This is for those that are unable to pay the full amount but feel deeply drawn to attend. With a cost of $50 to cover catering and manual only. Where will the MHFA courses be held? We have two convenient locations in: Perth CBD Central Fremantle Please refer to the Booking Calendar for individual dates at each location. For rural, remote and corporate bookings, get in touch to express your interest.

How credible is the MHFA program? We have done all the research work for you. By getting your accreditation through The Sharing Shed, you join an amazing MHFA family. With over 7 million people trained in 30 countries world wide.

Is this recognised accreditation training? Yes, it is! In fact, MHFA Australia has a teaching standard that is greater than is required by the Vocational Education and Training scheme. Shortly after the completion of the course, you will receive a short quiz to demonstrate learned knowledge. This consists of multiple choice and true or false questions. Once passed, you will receive your accreditation certificate. Your accreditation from MHFA Australia is valid for 3 years, and you will be qualified for a Refresher training after that time.

Is there Online Training available? Yes, absolutely! Standard Mental Health First Aid course is offered in face—2-face as well as in blended (online) formats. You can choose one of the two options: Blended Face-to-Face: Self-paced eLearning (5-7 hours), followed by a 4-hour face-to-face session Blended Online: Self-paced eLearning (5-7 hours), followed by 2 x 2.5-hour videoconferencing sessions Furthermore, to make it more suitable for your needs, some eLearning materials are tailored to either workplaces or community settings. When you make a booking for Blended course, you can select Community or Wokplace option

What is your refund policy? Bookings are non-refundable. However, in the event you are unable to attend a course you will be issued a credit to attend another course date within 90 days from the date of the initial course date (subject to availability). Please e-mail phillippa@thesharingshed.com.au if you are unable to attend. If the course is cancelled by The Sharing Shed, you will receive a refund of the amount paid.

I have completed MHFA training in the past, what are my options? If you have completed your MHFA with another training provider and wish you join our programs, you are welcome to attend! We offer Refresher courses for all Mental Health First Aiders who has completed their accreditation in the past 3 years.

What happens after the training? You will be offered an opportunity to become accredited Mental Health First Aider! As well as supported in your role with post-training support and recourses, that will help you continue to make the difference in your workplace and community.
