Introduction

 

"Building Safe, Respectful, and Inclusive Workplaces" is a comprehensive training program designed to foster positive workplace environments.

 

In Module 1, participants explore workplace values and norms, emphasizing the importance of creating a safe and respectful atmosphere. The module delves into respecting diversity, promoting inclusion, and nurturing a healthy and secure workplace culture. "Being an Effective Bystander," underscores the significance of bystanders in preventing workplace issues. Participants acquire essential skills to support bystander action, understanding that intervention can make a difference. They also learn where to find information and support when faced with such situations.

 

On the second day, addresses the critical issues of preventing sexual harassment, bullying, and racism. The training delves into recognizing and combatting bullying, confronting racism, and addressing sexual harassment head-on. By the program's conclusion, participants are equipped and have an action plan with the knowledge and tools needed to create workplaces characterized by safety, respect, and inclusivity.

Participants may include new entrants to the workplace making their way through VET training or other pathways, prospective employees or contractors. Mining and automotive industries that are at risk and are addressing gender balance.
