"Pay What You Can"
& "Pay It Forward"
At The Sharing Shed, we understand that sometimes there just aren’t enough financial resources to afford relevant training and teaching, which is why we have come up with the idea for the Community Chest. The Community Chest is essentially a “Pay what you can” and “Pay it forward” concept, in which we offer "needs based programs" the option to pay only what they can afford.
We want everyone to have access to our courses and programs, which is where the Community Chest comes in. We want to volunteer our time to train these in need groups for free, which leaves the cost for transport, manuals, venue hire and catering remaining. The Community Chest will help us help schools and communities who can’t afford to pay any or the whole price of our training and allow us to bring our resources to those who need it but can’t afford it.

How Community Chest Works
If a client is unable to pay the cost of our services, the amount they can afford to pay will deduct at $60 per person to cover the cost of running the training and all remaining money will go into the Community Chest, which will then help to fund future ‘needs based’ projects. Similarly, if a school or organisation cannot afford any of the training, money is pulled from the Chest to cover the full cost.
