Introduction: Youth Mental Health First Aid (MHFA)
For youth, adolescence is a time of change and development. During of which mental health issues can arise. The 14-hour Youth Mental Health First Aid course teaches any adult (18 years and over) how to provide initial support to adolescents experiencing a mental health problem or crisis. Learn about the signs and symptoms of common mental health problems in young people, how and where to get professional help, and how to provide first aid in a crisis.
Youth MHFA Study Format options:
The 14-hour Youth Mental Health First Aid course can be delivered in 1 of 3 ways:
1. Face-to-face: A 2-day (approximately 6 hours per day) course led by an accredited MHFA Instructor.
2. Blended face-to-face: A self-paced e-learning component (approximately 4 hours) followed by a 1-day face-to-face session OR 2 half-day face-to-face sessions led by an accredited MHFA Instructor.
3. Online: A self-paced eLearning component (approximately 4 hours) followed by 3 x 2.5-hour video-conferencing sessions led by an accredited MHFA Instructor.
